Set aside time for questions

As a team manager, your day is full-on and busy. Your jumping from meeting to meeting, catching up with customers, in meetings with your team. There is a lot to do and not enough time to get it all done. With all this going on sometimes your team can feel a little bit out of touch with you because there is so much going on.

One way to address this is to set aside time to answer team questions. Your team always has things they want to run by you. Whether that is permission to complete certain tasks. Or they might need your help with understanding what they are working on. It perhaps that want to quiz you on a certain team process.

Whilst not major issues for you as the Manager, these are bottlenecks for your team. Helping them releases them onto other work, keeps them connected to you, and also gives them time with you when things are busy.

So set aside time to answer those questions your team has each day.
